WMF Technical Forum 2026 Review: Part 1

The World Money Fair (WMF) is the world’s largest coin fair. This year’s event, held 29-31 January, welcomed 320 exhibitors to the three day event, including mints and national banks from around 50 countries.

The 22nd iteration of the WMF Technical Forum took place as typically scheduled, the day before the main WMF officially opened. Led by organisers and founding directors Dieter Merkle (Schuler) and Thomas Hogenkamp (Spaleck), the 2026 Forum welcomed an audience of more than 275 participants.

This year’s Technical Forum offered 14 specialist presentations, providing a comprehensive overview of current innovations in the coin industry.
