Germania Mint Unveils Black Light Colours

Germania Mint unveiled a new special release coin for the recent World Money Fair, featuring Black Light Colours technology. The 2025 Germania Black Silver WMF Edition coin utilises the Mint’s Black Light Colours – a technology born from anti-counterfeiting security – to showcase vibrant hidden colours when held under UV light. The coin is the first of its kind, with previous applications of UV-reactive paints limited to single-colour effects.

The Mint has said that the technology can be used as an advanced security feature for investment products and circulation coins, in addition to its current application on collectible coins. 

Mintage of the special release coin has been limited to 500 pieces.
