World Money Fair Technical Forum 2024 Review – Part 2

This year the Technical Forum celebrated its 20th Anniversary at the World Money Fair, with some 280 people attending either in person or online. A total of fifteen papers were presented, with this month’s review continuing on from the March issue and covering the middle third of these presentations.

Sorting Results Prediction – A Key to Greater Quality and Productivity

Proditec’s Eric Sanquer covered the development of a Sorting Results Prediction feature during his presentation. This was achieved by using the company’s Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) tool, which examines and measures five parameters: 

  1. Plant operating time
  2. Planned production time (planned shutdowns)
  3. Operating time (down time losses)
  4. Net operating time (speed loss)
  5. Fully productive time (time lost from removing faulty products i.e. quality loss) – which was noted as most important.
