Coiniverse Files for Bankruptcy

Coiniverse Oy, developer of coin collecting platform Coiniverse, announced on 30 June that it is filing for bankruptcy. A court-appointed administrator will assume responsibility for the company’s operations following the filing, with all further communication to be managed by the appointed administrator, once named.

Coiniverse was launched in 2021 by the Mint of Finland – the closure of which was announced last Autumn – to identify the impact of digitalisation on the future of cash. The platform was spun off into an independent startup in August 2023 and counts several state mints as members, including the Lithuanian Mint, Monnaie de Paris, Spanish Mint (FNMT-RCM), South African Mint, Italian Mint (IPZS), German Mint (Münze Deutschland), Swissmint, and the Greek Mint.
