Poland Flies to the Future with UFO Coin

The Mint of Poland has opened this year with the release of the ‘world’s first flying coin’. Unveiled at the recent World Money Fair Technical Forum in Berlin, it floats in the air via a motor hidden inside the coin itself. An electromagnetic field is generated between the motor and a specially designed base, enabling it to ‘fly’.

‘More than a decade ago, we were the first in the world to produce a spatial coin. We then were perpetually surprising with further ambitious projects in a non-standard form. Now we are making history yet again, by utilising our know-how to create the world’s first flying coin’, said Katarzyna Budnicka-Filipiuk, President of the Management Board of the Mint.Top of the UFO MP-1766 coin.
