RCM to Supply New Caribbean Guilder Coins

The Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Maarten has selected the Royal Canadian Mint to produce and supply the countries’ new Caribbean guilder coins, which are scheduled for introduction in the second half of 2024.

The Bank has said that the focus now turns to the detailed design of the new currency, while continuing to hold conversations with commercial banks and other stakeholders. These include discussions with the former around any potential adjustments needed to the banks’ cash processing and electronic payment systems for the introduction of the Caribbean guilder.

New King Charles III Coin Effigy for Canada

The Canadian government has announced that King Charles III will replace his predecessor, the late Queen Elizabeth II, on Canada’s coins and $20 bill after officially being crowned Canada’s sovereign.
