Remarkable New Issues

Coin & Mint News™ continues our ‘Remarkable New Issues’ segment, in partnership with CoinsWeekly, by highlighting three new creative collectible issues – including an unusual shape, multi-faceted design, and colourful imagery.

Cuboid Creativity from Poland

Poland’s official coin themes are generally quite conservative and rooted in the country’s own history. This also applies to this piece, which is dedicated to the 1,000th Anniversary of the Coronation of Boleslaus the Brave. However, its shape is anything but conservative – the silver coin is designed as a cuboid, with a six-sided design. It was produced by the Mint of Poland, which is known for its high level of creativity. Another example of this is a parallel coin released with the same theme, which features a superimposed amber element.
